Gunmen Storm Community, Raze House of Reps Member’s Residence

 

On Thursday, unidentified gunmen launched an attack on the hometown of Chief Canice Moore Chukwugozie Nwachukwu, popularly known as Omeogo.

Chief Nwachukwu is a member of the Federal House of Representatives, representing the Orlu, Orsu, and Oru East Federal Constituency in Imo State.

The attack unfolded at the crack of dawn in the serene Isioma, Abara village, located within the Amanator Okporo Community in Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State.

Peter Anaele, a source from the community, revealed that the armed gunmen stormed the lawmaker’s residence, armed with guns, explosives, and various other dangerous weapons.

Chief Nwachukwu was not present at his home when the assailants struck. However, the perpetrators proceeded to round up the domestic staff at gunpoint, instilling fear and chaos.

They looted properties and valuables, made videos of the staff, and threatened more severe attacks. They then poured petrol, which they brought in with two 20-liter kegs, on the buildings and set the houses ablaze with explosives, bombs, and dynamites.”

The incident has reportedly thrown the community into panic and apprehension.
