Fire incident destroys Ibadan Residence

A fire outbreak in the early hours of Monday ravaged a four-bedroom house situated at No. 1 Happiness Close, Akufo Estate, in the Elebu axis of Ibadan, Oyo State.

This was made known by Mr. Yemi Akinyinka, the General Manager of the Oyo State Fire Service, who said the agency received a distress call at exactly 1:13 a.m.

Firefighters were immediately mobilized to the scene, where they found the residential structure already engulfed in flames.

“Our team responded promptly and worked efficiently to prevent the fire from spreading to other buildings in the vicinity,” Akinyinka stated.

He also confirmed that the occupants were successfully evacuated from the building without any injuries or fatalities.

An initial investigation pointed to an overheated solar panel as the source of the fire. The panel reportedly caught fire and ignited other combustible materials nearby.

Akinyinka advised homeowners using solar installations to carry out routine inspections and ensure safety measures are in place to avoid similar incidents.
