BREAKING: Bayelsa Deputy Governor Collapses, Rushed to Hospital

Bayelsa State was thrown into panic on Thursday after Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, reportedly collapsed in his office and was urgently taken to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Yenagoa.

The incident occurred at about 1:30 pm, causing heightened concern among workers at the Government House. Eyewitnesses told Newsmen that the Deputy Governor appeared visibly unwell when he was transported to the hospital’s emergency unit, where medical personnel immediately commenced treatment.

Hospital sources confirmed that Senator Ewhrudjakpo is stable and currently receiving care at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Although officials have not disclosed the cause of his sudden health crisis, insiders suggest it may be related to a possible cardiac issue.
“He is a workaholic. He hardly rests,” a source close to the Deputy Governor told our correspondent, hinting that stress may have contributed to the incident.

Security operatives have since taken control of the hospital environment, restricting access as top government officials and aides visited to check on his condition.

Efforts to reach his media aide, Mr. Doubara Atasi, were unsuccessful as calls and messages went unanswered. However, medical personnel at FMC assured that the Deputy Governor is receiving “timely and adequate” care.

More details are expected shortly…
