The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, has approved the promotion of 18 senior officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to the rank of Assistant Corps Marshal. This approval was recently announced as part of ongoing efforts to improve the leadership and operations of the Corps across the country.
The promotion is expected to support the Corps in its drive to improve road safety, prevent accidents, and strengthen traffic management. It also reflects the government’s continued focus on road safety and the need for experienced hands to lead the charge in reducing crashes on Nigerian highways.
Among the newly promoted officers, three have been directed to begin their retirement from May 19, 2025. Their service in the Corps has come to an end following years of contribution to national road safety efforts.
The Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, extended his congratulations to the promoted officers and noted that the development is part of the plan to improve how the Corps operates and serves the public. The new officers are expected to take up greater roles in managing the agency’s duties and ensuring safer roads for Nigerians.
