Tears as three siblings killed, bodies kept inside freezer

The atmosphere was heavy with sorrow as the remains of three siblings, who were tragically murdered in Nnewichi, Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State, were laid to rest on Saturday.

Family members and the local community gathered in mourning as the children were buried in their family compound in Uga, Aguata Local Government Area.

The victims, identified as Chikaima (9), Chimziterem (8), and Chimdirim (5), were members of the Ejezie family.

Their lives were cut short on February 1 when they were allegedly killed by unknown attackers, who then placed their bodies in a deep freezer.

During a requiem mass held in their honor at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, the Archbishop of Ekwulobia Diocese, Cardinal Ebere Okpalaeke, reflected on the biblical story of Cain and Abel.

He noted that violence had existed since the beginning of humanity, emphasizing that the young victims, whose lives ended so soon, had become martyrs.
