In a move aimed at revitalizing the education sector, the Ondo State Government has commenced induction training for more than 1,000 newly recruited teachers into the state’s secondary school system.
The exercise, which is being conducted across the three senatorial districts, kicked off in Ikare Akoko, within the Northern Senatorial District. It was formally declared open by the Ondo State Head of Service, Mr. Bayo Philip, who was represented by Dr. Olumide Asere, Director General of the State Public Service Training Institute (PSTI), Ilara-Mokin.
Held under the theme “Mastering the Teaching Terrain, Shaping Young Minds and Building a Bright Future,” the induction is designed to equip the new teachers with essential knowledge of professional standards and classroom best practices.
According to a statement issued by Sina Adeyeye, Press Officer in the Office of the Head of Service, the Head of Service encouraged the participants to fully embrace the training as a platform for career development and to familiarize themselves with modern teaching strategies.
He also expressed appreciation to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for authorizing the recruitment of new teachers, noting that the move reflects the current administration’s strong commitment to enhancing the quality of education in the state.
The induction programme will proceed in other selected centres within the Central and Southern Senatorial Districts in the coming days.
