In our previous teachings, we have unravelled the mystery of how the earth was formed through the waters and how the dry land (earth came into existence).

We also dealt with the mystery of how the sea stood on its own as the Bible said that the gathering together of the waters was called seas. We explained to you how the sea brought up all the living creatures in it and every moving creature that has life. (Gen 1:1-20) .

In the course of the message, we told you that the book of Philippians 2:10 says: Every knee in Heaven, on earth, and beneath the earth should bow at the mentioning of the name of Jesus Christ which confirmed that some creatures reside under the earth (beneath the earth) apart from those in Heaven and on earth.

The mystery we want to unravel now is to identify those creatures who reside beneath the earth as exposed to us by the scripture in Philippians 2:10. Don’t also forget that the verse pointed out that these creatures also have knees like human beings as described in Philippians 2:10.

So, who are these creatures residing beneath the earth and who are they answerable to? Are they also like human beings? All these questions are begging for answers…

Rev 5:13 opened our understanding to the fact that people under the earth and people in the sea have similar attributes like human beings. They can talk and they can as well give glory to God just like human beings on earth can talk and give glory to God through talking.

Let’s read Rev 5:13:

“And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto Him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb forever and ever.”

The fact is now very obvious and no longer hidden that we have another world beneath the earth where some creatures also live just like human beings reside on earth.

It is also obvious these creatures can also pay homage to God just like human beings are doing. It means some of them share the same character as human beings.

The mystery of whether these creatures have the attributes of human beings has now been settled.

The Bible said that they have knees like human beings, (Philippians 2:10) and that, they can talk, praise, and give glory to God just like human beings.(Rev 5:13).

The mystery of who are they answerable to has also been settled by the book of Philippians 2:10 and Genesis chapter one which narrated the beginning of how God created the world and everything in it. So, all the things God created are answerable to God and those He has given the authority to control them.

We are now left with the question of who are these people residing beneath the earth?

The answer is simple. Some of these creatures are the dead people. Some are in hell because they died as unbelievers (Rev 21:8.) The other set of people are the dead saints who are currently housed in paradise beneath the earth. (Luke 23:42-43).

We also have some fallen angels trapped in hell (beneath the earth) against Judgement day by God according to 2Peter 2:4.

All the demons and all the beasts in the bottomless pit are also part of the creatures living in hell (under the earth.) Rev 9:1-12.

The truth is that anytime the bible refers to those creatures under the earth, it is referring to those creatures in hell, and the dead saints in paradise, including all the demons and all the beasts that are locked down in the bottomless pit.

Remember hell and paradise are not in heaven but exist beneath the earth according to several scriptures we relied upon in our previous teachings about the location of hell and heaven.

So, when the Bible talked about the fact that we still have people living beneath the earth who pay homage to God, the Bible is talking about the dead people in hell and paradise and those fallen angels that God trapped in hell until the day of judgment according to 2nd Peter 2:4.

Let’s read some Bible texts that confirm to us that hell is actually beneath the earth and not in heaven:

“But he knoweth not that the dead are there; and that her guests are in the depths of hell.” (proverb 9:18)

“The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath”. (proverb 15:24)

“Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.”(Isaiah 14:15)

“Though they dig into hell, thence shall mine hand take them; though they climb up to heaven, thence will I bring them down.” (Amos 9:2).

“If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. (psalm 139:8).

“It is as high as heaven; what canst thou do? deeper than hell; what canst thou know? (Job 11:8).

For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell. (psalm 86:13).

All the bible references above have clarified the fact that hell is under the earth. Remember that the scriptures also established the fact that paradise is direct opposite of hell. Don’t forget how Jesus spoke about the gulf that separates hell from paradise when he told the parable about the rich man and Lazarus in Luke 16:22.

We have successfully unravelled the mystery of those people living under the earth.

However, I must remind you that hell is not a palatable place to reside for eternity. Without Jesus Christ in you, if you die today, you have chosen your permanent abode which is hell for eternity.

To avoid that, you need to repent now and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. That is the only road of escape.
