”In Ondo State, we must have a re-branded government, a government that believes in the ultimate power of God. A government that will subscribe itself to God Almighty so that God will dictate and direct the course of action of many in Ondo State.

”Because we want to move with the spirit of God, we cannot remain in this obscurity we find ourselves. We are in darkness in Ondo State, we need a spiritual breakthrough and we cannot bring anybody with an evil spirit to Ondo State and return our state into the dreg.”

“I have not less than 900 committed delegates that we are together. The bond between us is strong, it is strong in the sense that our conviction is that we want to make a new story about Ondo State.”

“We want Ondo State to witness a new breath and that’s what has bonded all of us together. They won’t be moved by power play of the so-called Bourgeois who only think about themselves and looking at their terminal point, who are not thinking of the generational unborn or generation that is coming behind.

”We will not confine our destiny to them; in Ondo State, new music will sound.”

These were the words of Banji Okunomo, the leading governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State while speaking with Starnews NG in an interview on Saturday over his gubernatorial ambition ahead of the party’s primary on July 22, 2020.
