The Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has approved the appointment of Dr. Olusegun Victor Ategbole as the new Chairman of the Ondo State Hospital Management Board (HMB), marking a significant move in the administration’s efforts to strengthen healthcare governance in the state.

Dr. Ategbole succeeds Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti, who previously served as Chairman of the board before his recent elevation to the position of Secretary to the State Government (SSG). The change in leadership comes as part of ongoing reforms aimed at revitalizing key sectors in the state, especially healthcare delivery.

A highly respected medical professional with over three decades of experience, Dr. Ategbole brings a wealth of expertise to the position. He has held several leadership roles in various hospitals and healthcare institutions in Nigeria and the United States of America. His impressive track record includes clinical excellence, institutional reform, and international exposure in health system management.

A native of Oka Akoko in Akoko South West Local Government Area of Ondo State, Dr. Ategbole’s appointment is seen as a strategic decision to tap into local talent with global competence, reflecting the governor’s commitment to effective and responsive governance.

In a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, Governor Aiyedatiwa congratulated the new Chairman and expressed confidence in his ability to reposition the Hospital Management Board for improved efficiency and quality service delivery. The Governor further urged Dr. Ategbole to deploy his professional acumen and leadership capacity to drive a new era of healthcare management that prioritizes accessibility, affordability, and excellence.
