I Am Not Against Nnamdi Kanu’s Release – Soludo

Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State has addressed accusations that he is opposed to the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Soludo denied these claims, which he described as misinformation, and blamed political opponents for spreading false narratives to damage his reputation.

Soludo emphasized that he has actively worked towards Kanu’s release, recalling his visit to Kanu’s detention facility in 2022 and his attempts to secure bail for the IPOB leader.

The governor reiterated his belief that Kanu’s release would contribute to restoring peace and stability in the South-East region, Premium Times reports.

Furthermore, Soludo responded to concerns about the growing insecurity in the region, linking it to the hijacking of the Biafra agitation by criminal groups engaged in violent activities.

To address this, he announced the launch of “Operation Udo Ga Achi,” a new security initiative aimed at improving safety in the South-East.
