Former INEC Chairman Jega Loses Mother

Hajiya Hauwa Kulu Muhammadu Jega, the mother of former chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Attahiru Jega, is dead.

She died Friday night in Abuja after a brief illness.

According to a family source, funeral prayer for the deceased would hold at the National Mosque in Abuja this Saturday at 1:30pm.

She would be interred at Gudu Cemetery Abuja after the funeral prayer.

Hajiya Hauwa is survived by many children and grandchildren, including popular journalist and syndicated newspaper columnist, Malam Mahmud Jega, and a former Executive Director of AMCON, Alhaji Abbas Jega, among others.
