Super Eagles Head Coach Eric Chelle has unveiled a 23-man squad for Nigeria’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
According to AFRIPOST, the roster includes a blend of experienced players and rising stars, all aiming to bolster Nigeria’s chances of securing a place in the global tournament.

The goalkeeping unit consists of Stanley Nwabali (Chippa United, South Africa), Amas Obasogie (Singida Blackstars, Tanzania), and Kayode Bankole (Remo Stars), all of whom have been reliable for their respective clubs.
The defensive lineup features key players such as William Ekong (Al-Kholood FC, Saudi Arabia), Calvin Bassey (Fulham FC, England), and Olaoluwa Aina (Nottingham Forest, England).
Other defenders include Bright Osayi-Samuel (Fenerbahce, Turkey), Bruno Onyemaechi (Olympiacos, Greece), and Igoh Ogbu (SK Slavia Prague, Czech Republic), bringing depth and versatility to the backline.

Upcoming Matches
The Super Eagles will first face Rwanda, the current Group C leaders, in an important away fixture on Friday, March 21, in Kigali.
Four days later, they will return to Nigeria to host Zimbabwe at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo. These encounters will play a crucial role in Nigeria’s quest to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
