“Woe to those who rise early in the morning that they may pursue strong drink, Who stay up late in the evening that wine may inflame them!” (Isaiah 5:11.)

Many years ago, ever before I was born again, I stopped the consumption of beer and other strong drinks. Not because someone preached to me to stop taking them, neither did I receive medical advice from any doctor. But I stopped taking them because I realised I was not enjoying myself but instead, I was destroying my health.

I observed I always developed serious unstoppable headache and will run abnormal temperature anytime I consumed beer or or alcoholic drinks. No effective medication could stop the headache anytime it started. I won’t be myself except the alcohol runs out of my body system.

One day, my inner man ministered to me, and asked a question I was unable to answer. The question was : “Why are you consuming what is affecting your health negatively.” From that very moment, I stopped taking alcoholic drinks.

The risks and harms associated with drinking alcohol have been systematically evaluated over the years and are well documented. The World Health Organization (WHO) has now published a statement in The Lancet Public Health: when it comes to alcohol consumption, there is no safe amount that does not affect our health.

According to World Health Organization latest report, Alcohol is a toxic, and it causes at least seven types of cancer, including the most common cancer types, such as bowel cancer and female breast cancer. Ethanol (alcohol) causes cancer through biological mechanisms as the compound breaks down in the body, which means that any beverage containing alcohol, regardless of its price and quality, poses a risk of developing cancer.

Infact, according to WHO, there is nothing like moderate alcohol consumption because the risks of alcohol consumption start from the first drop.
Today, many lives have been cut short due to consumption of alcohol, and smoking of cigarettes. Many have developed ulcer, cancer, and all forms of terminal diseases. Many people have been sent to their early graves due to alcoholic drinks and smoking habit.

The scriptures says,”Wine is a mocker, strong drink a brawler, And whoever is intoxicated by it is not wise.” (Proverb 20 vs 1.)

Apart from the fact that you are destroying your health as a result of smoking and alcohol, the Bible also said that anyone involved in drunkenness will not inherit the kingdom of God. (Galatians 5:21)

It is indeed ignorance not to know that there are better wines with zero alcohol that are rich in the body. I remember the first time I took chamdor wine, I slept like a newborn baby and I woke up like a giant. That very day, I concluded within me that there is no enjoyment in consuming alcohol.

The alcohol consumption you see as enjoyment today is indeed a virus.

Brethren, why are you consuming what is destroying your health? What vitamins are cigarettes adding to your body? Alcohol is killing the body’s cells. Why are you taking it?

Drunkenness leads to hell fire, desist from it.

I just told you! Please repent today and forsake your sinful lifestyle. Accept Jesus Christ today as your Lord and Saviour.

Say : Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sin. Forgive me. (confess your sin) I accept you today as my Lord and Saviour, come into my life and remain there forever. Amen.
