The Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has approved the appointment of Mr. Atibani Adeyeye Eric as a member of the Governing Council of the Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Okitipupa.
The appointment was officially conveyed in a letter dated September 11, 2025, and signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti. According to the letter, the appointment takes effect from August 25, 2025, and will run for a period of four years.
The letter states in part:
“I am pleased to inform you that the Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, in exercise of his power as the visitor to Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa, has approved your appointment as a Member of the Governing Council of the University for a period of four years, with effect from 25th August, 2025.”
It further noted that the conditions of the appointment and other related information will be communicated in due course, even as the SSG extended the governor’s congratulations to the appointee.
The Governing Council of OAUSTECH serves as the highest decision-making body of the institution, tasked with shaping policies, overseeing academic and administrative matters, and guiding the overall strategic direction of the university. Members of the council are expected to bring their wealth of experience to bear in advancing the vision and mission of the school.
The appointment of Mr. Atibani is coming at a time OAUSTECH is consolidating its position as one of the leading science and technology universities in Nigeria. Established in 2008 by the late former governor Dr. Olusegun Agagu, the institution was designed to provide specialized training and research in engineering, pure sciences, and technology-driven disciplines to drive innovation and industrial growth in Ondo State and Nigeria at large.
