You shouldn’t have signed him – Ian Wright slams Man United over Sancho

Former Arsenal and England striker, Ian Wright has questioned Manchester United’s reason for signing Jadon Sancho.

The £73m summer signing from Borussia Dortmund has not been playing for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side and Wright wonders why he was signed in the first place if he wasn’t going to feature regularly for the team.

The 21-year-old Sancho became the second most expensive English player in history when he joined Manchester United over the summer.

He has endured a difficult start to his career under Solskjaer and has not scored or provided an assist in his 12 appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions.

“They’ve chased down Jadon Sancho for a couple of years. You get Jadon Sancho and he’s not playing,” he said on The Kelly and Wrighty Show.

“You’re playing with wing-backs so why are you buying wingers like Sancho. What are you doing buying Sancho?

“He [Solskjaer] should know what he wants from this team. Manchester United knew they needed more from their right-hand side. They buy Sancho but he can’t make the team.”
