Wike Fires Back at Bauchi Governor, Dismisses 2027 Presidential Ambition

Nyesom Wike, through his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, has strongly criticized Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, in response to the latter’s recent comments about Wike’s acceptance of a ministerial role in President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

In a statement issued on Monday, Olayinka branded Governor Mohammed as “ineffectual” and asserted that his 2027 presidential ambitions were “dead on arrival.”

He emphasized that Wike and his camp would not support Mohammed’s political aspirations, dismissing them outright.

Olayinka’s statement was a rebuttal to Mohammed’s criticism, where he questioned Wike’s integrity for joining the APC government.

Olayinka fired back, accusing the Bauchi governor of hypocrisy, highlighting past instances where Mohammed had served in roles under different political administrations, including when he left the ANPP to become a minister under the PDP government of President Goodluck Jonathan.

Olayinka further pointed out that Mohammed, if given a minor post under the APC in 2015, would have accepted it and defected without hesitation.
