The Ondo State People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has called on the electorates in the State to troop our enmass and vote for all the house of assembly candidates of the party ahead of Saturday’s election.
In a statement signed and made available to press men in Akure by the State Publicity Secretary of the party, Hon. Banji Okunomo, the PDP said voting for the candidates of the opposition PDP into the state house of assembly is the only way needed checks and balance that will engender accelerated development could take place in the state.
The full statement reads:

“We commend the electorates in Ondo State for setting the pace for a better Nigeria among the Southwest states through massive voting for the PDP and its candidates in the last elections across the state.

“As the house of assembly election approaches, the PDP once again call on the electorates in Ondo-State to vote for all the candidates of our party ahead of Saturday’s house of assembly election as this is the only way the dividends of Democracy could reach the People of the state.

“It must be pointed out that since the enthronement of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State , democratic dividends have eluded the people.

“It is regrettable that the acclaimed Progressives government has not be able to embark on any meaningful project that can improve the lives of the good people of the State.

“We encourage the electorates not to relent in their efforts to liberate the state from the maladministration of the ruling APC and economic crisis that has enveloped the state.

“Let it further be emphasised that the only panacea to this present of state of docility and inactiveness of the government of Ondo State is for the people to elect all the candidates of the opposition PDP into State house of assembly for the needed checks and balances that will engender accelerated development of Ondo-State.

“If by error, the people submit to the ongoing distribution of Greek gifts by the state Governor to persuade them ahead of Saturday’s election, the sufferings of the people will only be deffered tentatively.

“Our people must be reminded that the only way to checkmate the maladministration of any government is to vote them out of power through election like this. Otherwise, we may have to continue the suffering while smiling for another good four years as if nothing is happening before another opportunity will come for such,” the statement added.
