Tofowomo celebrates 65th birthday, laments deplorable roads in Ondo

Former senator Nicholas Tofowomo has expressed concern over the deteriorating state of roads in Ondo State, calling on both state and federal governments to take immediate action to address the issue.

Tofowomo, who represented Ondo South Senatorial District in the 9th National Assembly, made the appeal in Akure on Tuesday while marking his 65th birthday.

He emphasized that the poor condition of roads in the state required urgent rehabilitation to ease the movement of people and goods.

He stressed the importance of well-maintained infrastructure, describing it as the backbone of societal development.

According to him, the current state of the roads has led to loss of lives and property, making repairs a necessity rather than an option.

As a former Commissioner for Transport in Ondo State, Tofowomo highlighted his contributions during his tenure in the Senate, stating that his representation brought several impactful programs to his constituency.

During his time in the National Assembly, he sponsored multiple bills and motions, including the National Institute of Glass Development and Training (Establishment) Bill and the Bitumen Training Institute (Establishment) Bill.

He urged the government at all levels to prioritize road infrastructure to enhance safety and economic activities in the state.
