President Bola Tinubu has extended his congratulations to Oba Clement Adesuyi Haastrup (Ajimoko III) following his official coronation as the new Owa Obokun Adimula and Paramount Ruler of Ijeshaland in Ilesa.
In a statement issued by the State House and signed by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu celebrated Oba Haastrup’s distinguished record in public service, business, and now, traditional leadership.
The President described the newly crowned monarch as a respected businessman and former deputy governor, commending his journey from political service to cultural stewardship as a demonstration of admirable leadership and character.
“Oba Haastrup’s path reflects a strong legacy of leadership, adaptability, and deep commitment to Nigeria’s traditional institutions,” Tinubu stated.
He expressed optimism about the monarch’s capacity to unify and advance the interests of Ijeshaland, emphasizing the importance of preserving cultural values while driving progress.
The President urged Oba Haastrup to serve as a symbol of tradition and unity among his people and to continue upholding values that promote peace and harmony in Ijeshaland, Osun State, and across the country.
He also offered prayers for wisdom and divine guidance for the monarch, expressing hope that Oba Haastrup’s reign would build on the enduring legacy of his ancestors.
Oba Haastrup’s appointment as Owa Obokun Adimula was earlier approved by Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke in December 2024.
