Security operatives from the Department of State Services and the Nigerian Police Force have arrested 20 individuals in Abuja for allegedly hacking the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board.
The suspects are reportedly part of a larger syndicate comprising over 100 members, known for targeting and breaching the servers of major examination bodies, including JAMB and the National Examinations Council.
Authorities believe the group operated with a high level of sophistication, exploiting technology to manipulate examination data for financial gain.
Investigations into the network are ongoing, with security agencies working to uncover the full scale of the operation and bring all involved to justice.
