French Ligue 2 club Sochaux has announced the capture of Nigeria’s Super Eagles defender Valentine Ozornwaifor on loan with an option to buy.

The former Enyimba lanky defender played last season on loan in the Belgium Jupiler league with Sporting Charleroi, and was able to play an active for the capital team.

He returned to his parent club Galatasaray of Turkey at the end of the season before the French club asked for his signature.

He arrived at the club on Thursday and underwent a successful medical examination before the club announced his arrival on Friday evening.

” Valentine Ozornwafor, a 23-year-old left-footed central defender, joined the FCSM after passing the usual medical examination. The Nigerian International is on loan (with the option to buy) from the Royal Charleroi Sporting Club,” the club said.

Ozornwafor will not be the first Super Eagles star to play for the club, notable players Wilson Oruma, Brown Ideye and another defender Rabiu Afolabi also represented the club in the past.
