Judges of the Rivers State High Court will begin their yearly vacation on Monday, July 21, 2025, following an official announcement from the office of the Chief Judge, Justice Simeon Chibuzor Amadi.
The court’s Chief Registrar, David Ihua Maduenyi, confirmed the development in a statement, explaining that court sessions across all judicial divisions will be suspended throughout the vacation period.
According to the court rules stated in Order 49, Rule 4 of the Rivers State High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules, 2023 (as amended), the vacation is part of the court’s official calendar.
Normal court sittings are expected to resume on Wednesday, September 17, 2025.
However, urgent legal matters that may arise during the break will still be attended to by selected vacation judges, who will be named by the Chief Judge.
