PSC Promotes 66 Senior Police Officers

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has promoted 66 senior officers in the Nigerian Police Force. The announcement was made on Monday in Abuja, confirming the elevation of officers across different ranks.

Among those promoted, 20 Commissioners of Police (CPs) have been elevated to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG), while 19 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) have been moved up to the position of CP. Additionally, 13 Superintendents of Police (SPs) have been promoted to Chief Superintendents of Police (CSP), and 14 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) are now SPs.

The list of newly promoted officers includes Fasuba Olabode, Musibau Ajani, Aliyu Musa, Patrick Atayero, and Gyogon Grimah, among others. Others on the list are Olaiya Mobolaji, Chukwudi Ariekpere, Abubakar Aliyu, and Olalolu Adegbite. Also promoted are Godwin Eze, Disu Olatunji, Alausa Tolani, and several others.

Before their promotions, all officers appeared before the commission for examinations and interactive interviews. The process was overseen by the PSC Chairman, Hashimu Argungu, along with other members of the commission.

The promotion exercise is part of efforts to strengthen leadership within the Nigerian Police Force, ensuring that officers who have demonstrated competence and dedication are given higher responsibilities.
