President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Nigeria after participating in the 19th G20 Leaders’ Summit held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Accompanied by First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, the President arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Saturday evening.
The summit, hosted by Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva from November 18 to 19, focused on addressing global challenges such as food insecurity and economic inequality. President Tinubu represented Nigeria and reaffirmed the country’s commitment to the newly launched Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty, a flagship initiative of Brazil’s G20 presidency.
Highlighting Nigeria’s readiness to collaborate on these critical issues, President Tinubu used the platform to advocate for international partnerships to tackle global hunger and inequality.
On the sidelines of the summit, the President held bilateral meetings with several world leaders and oversaw the signing of a Letter of Intent with three leading Brazilian companies. This agreement aims to revitalize Nigeria’s livestock sector, drive sustainable agricultural development, and boost productivity.
President Tinubu’s participation at the G20 Summit underscored Nigeria’s active role in addressing pressing global issues and advancing international cooperation for economic growth and development.
