Police arrest gateman over alleged defilement of four-year-old pupil in Ibadan

The Oyo State Police Command said it has arrested a 26-year old school gateman, Josiah Ayomide over alleged defilement of four years old pupil in her school in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital

Spokesman of the Command, Adewale Osifeso while addressing journalists at the Command headquarters in Eleyele, Ibadan, said the victim, who is a four years old girl, had on 29th August, 2025 complained of pains in her vagina to her eldest sister.

Osifeso noted that the victim later told her mother that her school gateman had unlawful raped her while she was in the school.
He stated that the suspect was arrested and later confessed to the crime.

He said, “The victim was taken to Police Medical Clinic Eleyele-Ibadan for medical examination and treatment and medical report revealed that hymen not intact, tenderness around the vulva and vagina with bruises.

Osifeso said the suspect would be prosecuted upon completion of investigation.
In another development, the Command also said it arrested one Azeez Kolawole and Isah Fatai at Sanyo area for engaging in stealing of goats around Ibadan and its environ, using Toyota Matrix without Registration number for the act.

Osifeso said the duo were sometimes arrested and charged to court on two different occasions for same offence.

He however said the suspects has confessed to the crime and investigation is ongoing to locate other members of their syndicate.
Other suspected criminals arrested by the Police include suspected kidnappers, suspected armed robbers, and suspect hijackers among others.
