One Dead in Car Crash Near Buhari Estate

A tragic car accident on the Lagos-Badagry Expressway, near Age-Mowo and just past Buhari Estate, resulted in the death of one person on Sunday evening.

According to Afripost, Williams Manga, the Unit Commander for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Badagry, confirmed that another individual was injured in the crash, which occurred around 8:30 p.m.

“The accident involved a Lexus vehicle with no registration number,” Manga stated. “Our team was alerted at 8:40 p.m., and we reached the scene by 8:50 p.m. It appears that the crash was caused by excessive speed. The second occupant of the vehicle suffered severe injuries, including broken bones and internal trauma.”

Manga also reported that the FRSC team faced obstruction from the deceased’s family and local youths when attempting to transport the body to the hospital. “They became aggressive and blocked the road, preventing us from taking the body. Due to this disruption, we were forced to return to our base,” he said.

The FRSC official urged the public to respect the duties of law enforcement and reminded drivers to exercise caution on the roads.
