Ondo PDP leaders suspend ward chairman in Igbotako 

Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Igbotako Ward 1 in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State have suspended Mr Oluwayemi Festus over his alleged inability to perform his duties as the Chairman of the Ward as stated in the PDP constitution, section 14 subsection(3) &(4).

Starnews Nigeria reports that this was announced in a letter of suspension signed by members of the executives in the ward led by the Vice Chairman and Secretary, Iwajomo David and Adeyekun Owoyele respectively.

According to the letter, other reasons for the suspension were listed but not limited to the following:

“During covid 19, all palliatives and relieved materials that were sent to the ward were hoarded by the chairman.”

“During the Provo of just concluded selection of 3 ad-hoc delegates per ward exercise, he displayed a high level of insubordination and selfishness which has created a lacuna on the progress the party.”

“He denied the ward secretary to have access to the ward registered which is against the rule of the party.”

“He included the name of member of APC into the ward register as a party member. The PRO of APC in Igbotako ward 1 was included in our party’s register”, the suspension letter added.
