Two lawmakers in the House of Representatives, Okolie Lawrence and Akingbaso Olanrewaju, have dumped their former parties to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Their decision was announced during Wednesday’s plenary session by the Speaker of the House, Tajudeen Abbas.
Lawrence, who represents the Aniocha North/Aniocha South/Oshimili North/Oshimili South federal constituency in Delta State, left the Labour Party.
Olanrewaju, from the Idanre/Ifedore federal constituency in Ondo State, left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Both lawmakers said they believed joining the APC would benefit their constituents and provide better political direction.
Olanrewaju also mentioned issues within the PDP as part of his reason for switching sides.
