The Ondo State Security Network Agency, popularly known as the Amotekun Corps, has suspended three of its officers for alleged acts of gross misconduct.
The affected personnel have been identified as Abu Taiwo, Akinsipe Victor, and Ekujumi Julius.
The State Commander of the Corps, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, made the announcement on Monday in Akure while parading four suspected criminals arrested for various offences.
Adeleye stated that the suspended officers have also been declared wanted pending the conclusion of an ongoing investigation into their alleged unethical behavior.
He emphasized that the decision was part of the Corps’ unwavering commitment to discipline, professionalism, and accountability, stressing that Amotekun would not tolerate any form of misconduct capable of tarnishing its public image or eroding citizens’ trust.
According to him, the Corps remains dedicated to maintaining its integrity as a community-driven security network established to complement the efforts of conventional security agencies in safeguarding lives and property across the state.
Further details on the nature of the alleged offences were not disclosed, but Adeleye assured that the matter would be thoroughly investigated and that appropriate disciplinary measures would be taken once findings are concluded.
