Super Falcons star, Asisat Oshoala, revealed her true passion was to become a professional lawyer, not a footballer.

According to Leadership Newspaper, In the ongoing 2023 Women’s World Cup, Oshoala scored a goal in the Super Falcons’ 3-2 victory against Australia and she shared this surprising revelation on Karen Carney’s Leaders Of The Pack podcast. The five-time African Women’s Footballer of the Year disclosed that her heartfelt ambition had always been to pursue a career in law, not sports.

Playing football professionally was never part of Oshoala’s original plan. She wanted to be a lawyer and had a deep love for research, questioning, and making excuses for people. Even when her friends were wrong, she would back them up and provide excuses for them. Oshoala’s dream of becoming a lawyer was strong, and football came as a surprise path in her life.

“I never had the desire to play football professionally; it wasn’t part of my plan, I truly aspired to be a lawyer. That was my dream. I love to make research. I love to question people. I love to make excuses for people. Even when my friends were at fault, I’d still support them” Oshoala stated.

Despite her unexpected journey as a footballer, Oshoala has become a star in the sport, achieving significant success and accolades.
