Makinde Renames Polytechnic Ibadan After Late Olunloyo

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has announced the renaming of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, in honour of the late elder statesman and former governor of the old Oyo State, Dr Omololu Olunloyo.

The governor made the announcement on Thursday during a brief speech at the interdenominational commendation service held at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium in Ibadan. He said the institution will now be known as Omololu Olunloyo Polytechnic, Ibadan.

Dr Olunloyo, who passed away shortly before his 90th birthday, was the pioneer Rector of the institution and a prominent figure in the state’s political and educational development.
