JUST IN: Labour Party Loses Another Rep Member to APC

Ajang Iliya, the representative for Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency in Plateau State, has dumped the Labour Party (LP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The defection was formally announced during Thursday’s plenary session, with Speaker Tajudeen Abbas reading Iliya’s letter. In the letter, Iliya attributed his exit to the persistent leadership crises and internal challenges bedevilling the Labour Party.

His departure comes just days after five other LP lawmakers in the House of Representatives also quit the party, signalling deepening cracks within the party. Iliya explained that his decision was further influenced by difficulties in aligning with the party’s position on pressing national matters, prompting his move to the APC.
