JUST IN: Court Acquits Ex-Governor Fayose of Alleged Money Laundering

Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has been cleared of all money laundering charges by the Federal High Court in Lagos.

The judgment, delivered on Tuesday, favored a no-case submission presented by Fayose’s defence team. The court ruled that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) failed to present enough credible evidence to continue the trial.

Fayose had faced legal scrutiny over alleged financial misconduct during his administration. However, after years of proceedings, the court determined that the prosecution’s case did not merit further hearing.
