JUST IN: Caution Wike now, Ijaw community tells Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has been urged to ensure he cautions the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

The call was made to the president by the leadership of the Ijaw National Congress Worldwide.

According to the congress’ President, Benjamin Okaba, the lingering crisis in Rivers state has taken a toll on the people of the state due to Wike’s interests.

Okaba while speaking at a press briefing in Abuja on Tuesday, said the control of political machinery in the oil-rich state has caused an unprecedented rift between Wike and the state governor, Siminialayi Fubara.

The Congress warned that if left unattended the rift would possibly snowball into an unimaginable political crisis that could affect states across the country.

Okaba said, “Mr President, sir, as the father of the nation, the alter ego of Nigeria, we are fervently appealing to you to call the FCT Minister to order.

“This is for the sake of peace and security in Nigeria. Stop this drift towards national disintegration and anarchy now’’, he said.
