JUST IN: Catholic Priest, Two Others Kidnapped in Rivers

Gunmen kidnapped Rev. Father Livinus Maurice, a Catholic priest from Port Harcourt Diocese, along with two others in Rivers State.

The priest, who serves at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Isokpo, Ikwerre Local Government Area, was taken on Wednesday while returning from a hospital visit along the Elele-Isiokpo Road.

The identities of the other two victims are still unknown.

The Catholic Diocese of Port Harcourt confirmed the incident in a statement and urged the public to pray for their safe return.

The Rivers State Police Command has launched an investigation and assured that efforts are ongoing to rescue the victims and arrest the suspects.
