The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has uncovered cases of job racketeering in various ministries and agencies in Nigeria.
The commission has vowed to hold those responsible accountable as part of its broader anti-corruption efforts.
This revelation came during a seminar marking the 2024 International Anti-Corruption Day, where ICPC Chairman Musa Aliyu outlined the agency’s commitment to tackling corruption in all forms, including abuse of power and sexual harassment in schools.
He praised the growing refusal of Nigerian youths to engage in corrupt practices, describing their actions as a promising step for the nation.
In a separate event in Yenagoa, Resident Anti-Corruption Commissioner Ekere Usiere called on citizens to confront corruption without fear.
She noted that the nation risks further damage if the public does not actively expose corrupt practices.
The ICPC remains focused on addressing these challenges, aiming to restore trust in public institutions and ensure accountability across all sectors.
