How Simon Ekpa Is Sabotaging Our Efforts in South East – CDS

The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, has said said that the activities of Simon Ekpa, acclaimed leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) are sabotaging the efforts of security forces in the southeast region.

General Musa disclosed this when he led other service chiefs and the Inspector General of Police to appear before the House of Representatives at the commencement of its sectoral debate on Tuesday, November 21.

The defence chief, who alleged that Ekpa was being protected by Finland, said there was need for the federal government to engage the Finish Government and possibly invite its ambassador to Nigeria.

He said while the military and other security agencies in the country are doing their best to ensure that there is peace in the southeast, the comments and activities of Ekpa are sabotaging such efforts.

Ekpa, who is currently hiding in Finland, had taken over from Nnamdi Kanu after his arrest and detention by Nigeria’s secret police, the Department of State Services (DSS).
