Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior has warned that political slogans, sectarian messages, and the use of cameras or phones to take pictures or videos are not allowed at the holy sites during the 2025 Hajj.
The restriction applies to key locations such as Masjid al-Haram in Makkah, Masjid an-Nabawi in Madinah, as well as Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah.
These places are expected to host millions of pilgrims from different countries as they gather for the annual religious exercise.
The government explained that the ban is to maintain peace and ensure that pilgrims stay focused on prayer and reflection.
Authorities said that political or group-related displays could lead to arguments or tension among people who are meant to unite in worship.
The ministry also pointed out that the Hajj is a time for spiritual growth, humility, and togetherness.
Anyone who goes against the rules will face consequences, as the government plans to deploy security teams across the various sites to monitor activities throughout the pilgrimage.
