Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has revealed his interest in contesting for the Nasarawa North senatorial seat in the 2027 general election.
The announcement was made through the Director-General of the State’s Pension Bureau, Suleiman Musa Nagogo, during a meeting with members of the All Progressives Congress in Wamba Local Government Area.
Nagogo informed the gathering that Governor Sule had given him a message to share with his people in Wamba — that he plans to run for the Senate after completing his time as governor.
The DG said it was necessary to inform the community early about the governor’s political direction so they could prepare to support the bid.
He explained that a committee had been put together to begin the groundwork for the senatorial campaign.
Although the team is still in the early stages, Nagogo said it was important to start mobilizing support from the governor’s local base in Wamba.
During the meeting, Nagogo reminded the people of Wamba of the governor’s efforts in various sectors of the state.
He pointed to projects carried out in the state capital, Lafia, as well as improvements in agriculture and solid mineral exploration across the state.
He noted that these actions show the governor’s understanding of governance and his commitment to developing the state.
Nagogo added that Wamba has always been a strong base for the APC and urged the people to rally behind Governor Sule as their own son who now seeks to represent them at the federal level.
He described the upcoming Senate campaign as a project that belongs to the people of Wamba and encouraged them to take it seriously from the start.
