Governor Okpebholo renames Edo State University

Governor Monday Okpebholo has officially renamed Edo State University, Uzairue, to Edo University, Iyamho.

The announcement was made in a statement on Monday by Umar Musa Ikhilor, Secretary to the State Government.

“For the information of the general public, the Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the renaming of ‘Edo State University, Uzairue’ to ‘Edo University, Iyamho’ with immediate effect,” the statement read.

It further directed that all official records and documents related to the institution should henceforth reflect the updated name.

The reason for the name change was not disclosed.
