Benue: Federal Polytechnic Wannune dismisses registrar

The Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic, Wannune, Benue State, has approved the dismissal of the institution’s Registrar, Doris Ngurumun Iorchir, over allegations bordering on misconduct and failure to provide required documents during her probationary period.

According to an official statement issued by the Polytechnic, the decision followed the recommendations of the Management Disciplinary Committee and takes immediate effect.

The Council noted that Mrs. Iorchir failed to tender sensitive academic records and relevant promotional documents from her previous employers throughout her two-year probation, despite several reminders.

In a dismissal letter signed by the Acting Registrar of the Polytechnic, Dr. Muhammed Ndas Ndaeji, the institution also cited other grounds for the action, including failure to appear before the disciplinary committee when invited, alleged insubordination, and the use of foul language in official communications.

The letter further directed Mrs. Iorchir to return all Polytechnic property in her possession without delay.

The Governing Council stressed that the decision was taken in line with the institution’s conditions of service, aimed at upholding discipline, accountability, and due process within the Polytechnic system.

With this development, the management is expected to announce interim arrangements to fill the vacancy pending the appointment of a substantive Registrar.
