Governor Adeleke Assents to 2025 Budget

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has signed the 2025 budget of ₦427,746,925,170 into law after it was passed by the state legislature.

Speaking after the signing on Monday, Governor Adeleke instructed all ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) to ensure the budget is fully implemented to benefit the people of Osun State.

“We are committed to advancing the growth and development of our state in the new year. The 2025 budget, tagged the ‘Budget of Sustainable Growth and Transformation,’ amounts to ₦427,746,925,170,” the governor stated.

He further directed the Ministry of Economic Planning, Budget, and Development to closely monitor the implementation of the budget, ensuring that all goals and expectations are met.

“This Appropriation Act will serve as a vital tool in realizing our five-point agenda for good governance,” he added.

Governor Adeleke also praised the Ministry of Economic Planning, Budget, and Development for its professionalism, as well as the Treasury Board and other senior government officials who played a role in the budget’s passage.

He expressed his appreciation to the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly and the lawmakers for their collaboration in passing the budget, and called for continued cooperation between the executive and legislative branches to ensure proper oversight and accountability throughout the fiscal year.

The Osun State House of Assembly passed the 2025 budget on December 23.
