Five Killed in Fatal Crash on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

Five individuals died in a tragic accident involving a Mercedes-Benz Jeep at Fatgbems bus stop on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Sunday night.

According to NAN, CSP Omolola Odutola, spokesperson for the Ogun State Police, confirmed the incident in a statement on Monday.

The crash occurred around 11:30 p.m. when the driver of the Mercedes-Benz, traveling towards Mowe, lost control of the vehicle. It veered off the road, struck a culvert, flipped over, and landed facing the opposite direction.

The accident resulted in the death of three men and two women, while one person suffered injuries. The injured victim was rushed to AZ Carezone Hospital, while the bodies of the deceased were transported to Real Divine Hospital in Ibafo.

Authorities have contacted the victims’ families.

CSP Odutola urged all drivers to exercise caution and drive safely to prevent similar accidents.
