Fire destroys 42 shops in Bauchi varsity

No fewer than 42 shops located at the Student Center, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, have been destroyed by fire leading to the loss of property worth millions of Naira.

The block D shops that were destroyed are located behind the female hostels at the Yelwa Campus of the institution.

The shops destroyed are computer business centers, barbing salon and provision stores.

The fire which was said to have started at one of the shops was reportedly caused by an electrical fault.

The incident reportedly started during the early hours of Wednesday.
