FG Begins ₦15 Million Transfer to Vulnerable Households

The Nigerian Federal Government has started the process of transferring ₦15 million to vulnerable households as part of a broader strategy to boost economic inclusion.

This move aims to provide more opportunities for Nigerians to access financial support.

A task force has been set up to tackle the issues that have delayed the distribution of conditional cash transfers to 15 million households.

During the first meeting of the Presidential Committee on Economic and Financial Inclusion, held on Wednesday, the Deputy Chief of Staff to the President, Senator Ibrahim Hadejia, explained the importance of involving various stakeholders in the process.

The task force includes representatives from government agencies, financial institutions, and academic bodies, all working together to implement the President’s vision.

Senator Hadejia highlighted the importance of providing not only bank accounts but also better access to quality services, credit, and digital platforms.

He referred to discussions held during the World Bank Spring Meetings, where India’s success in lifting people out of poverty through financial inclusion was a central topic.
