EFCC Drags Mercy Chinwo’s Ex-Manager to Court Over $443k Theft

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has taken legal action against Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu, the former manager of gospel singer Mercy Chinwo, for allegedly stealing a large sum of money belonging to her and another gospel artiste, Judith Kanayo, also known as Judikay.

Onyedikachukwu is accused of taking a total of $443,371 in 2023 and using it for personal purposes.

The EFCC filed a three-count charge against him at the Lagos State Special Offences Court in Ikeja.

His company, Eezee Global Concepts Limited, is also included in the case.

According to the charge sheet filed by EFCC lawyers, the funds in question were meant for Chinwo and Kanayo.

The EFCC claimed the accused person dishonestly converted the money, in violation of sections of the Lagos State Criminal Law.

While the date for his arraignment at the state court has not yet been fixed, Onyedikachukwu is also standing trial at the Federal High Court in Lagos for a separate case involving money laundering and conducting foreign exchange transactions without approval.

He has already pleaded not guilty in that matter before Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke.
