Cross River Deputy Governorship Candidate Dumps PDP For APC

The deputy governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Cross River, Dr. Emana Duke-Amawhe, has switched allegiance to the All Progressives Congress (APC) along with her supporters.

This defection took place on Friday at her Edem Odo Ward in Akpabuyo Local Government Area of Cross River State.

Duke-Amawhe, a former journalist turned politician, cited the development strides of the APC both in the state and nationally as her reason for making the move.

She expressed her excitement about joining the APC and being part of the party’s progress.

She further explained that her decision was not motivated by personal gains, such as hunger or an appointment, but by a desire to work alongside those in power to deliver democracy’s benefits to the grassroots.

Duke-Amawhe also called on those still in opposition to collaborate with the government in building the state rather than focusing on criticism.

She said that if there will be an opposition, it should be a strong and constructive one.
