Ralph Nwosu, the national chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), said the coalition discussions among opposition groups will be completed within two weeks.
These talks involve key opposition leaders working together to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 presidential election.
The coalition talks have been ongoing for over a year, with committees formed to engage not only political parties but also civil society organizations and citizens’ groups.
The ADC has been actively reaching out to grassroots supporters, believing that change will come from the people, not just political leaders.
Nwosu explained that different party officials are managing various parts of the talks.
Deputy national chairman Bamidele Jamilu Jade is coordinating some political party groups, while Dr. Mani Ibrahim Ahmad is meeting with various stakeholders across parties.
These groups have also held discussions with many former presidential candidates and political figures from the 2023 elections.
The ADC chairman made it clear that the party will not be a temporary tool for politicians seeking power.
He warned that using the ADC as a mere stepping stone weakens the political system.
Instead, the ADC aims to build strong leadership capable of driving real change in the country.
