The National Assembly on Tuesday unsealed the office of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central, after months of suspension.
Channels Television reported that the office, located in Suite 2.05 of the Senate Wing, was reopened in the morning by the Sergeant-at-Arms, assisted by combined security personnel.
The embattled lawmaker was suspended in March 2025 for six months over alleged misconduct during a protest against the reassignment of her seat by Senate President Godswill Akpabio on February 20. The suspension barred her from all legislative activities of the 10th Senate.
Although her suspension officially ended in September, Akpoti-Uduaghan had faced difficulty resuming her duties due to ongoing legal disputes and resistance from Senate leadership.
Just last week, she wrote to the Senate notifying her intention to return to work, a move that was initially rejected by the upper chamber.
With Tuesday’s development, the lawmaker is expected to fully resume her legislative duties.
