BREAKING: Delta Governor Oborevwori Defects to APC

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has officially left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The defection was confirmed after a private meeting held on Wednesday evening at the Government House in Asaba.

Sir Festus Ahon, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, confirmed the development, noting that the decision followed thorough consultations with key political figures and was made in the best interest of Delta State’s future.

Oborevwori, who won the 2023 governorship election under the PDP, was welcomed by top APC leaders. Political commentators see the move as a major political shift that could influence the dynamics ahead of the 2027 elections.
